WE GROW
our own fruit trees, including Breadfruit, Otaheite Apple, Mango, Jackfruit, among other island favorites. Our in-house nursery produces organic saplings and vegetable seedlings in sufficient quantities to supply our recipients across Jamaica.
HOW WE DO IT
Fruit trees are always in extremely short supply, so we sourced seeds in order to grow our own organic saplings and vegetable seedlings at our climate smart agricultural academy which is owned and operated by The MAIA Foundation with a view to making these trees available to our communities.
From concept to execution, we developed a proprietary organic nutrient formula to ensure that our fruit trees and vegetable seedlings are free of chemical fertilizer and other influences that could negatively impact our environment and planet. Moreover, enriching the plants with our nutrient formula allows us to grow more resilient saplings and seedlings. Our fruit trees have to reach a minimum of two feet, and our vegetable seedlings have to pass the flowering stage prior to installation. We want to ensure their survival once planted out into it's new location.
